I had full data service on my Tmobile MDA however I got rid of that feature a few months ago. I didn't really have a need for it because I all access to my home PC at work via terminal services and when I was at home I of course had access to my PC.
It's OK if you want to check your email while on the go, but web surfing does suck on phones. I know with Tmobile you can hook your phone upto your laptop and use it as an EDGE modem no change in your serivce price. Companys like Cingular and Verizon will suck you dry if they know your going to use your laptop.
yes because its free on my sprint sero plan, and i would pay for it anyway since its totally awesome - it would be hard to adjust without having google maps and my email in my pocket at all times.
I never used the data on my old phone. Opening the browser and navigating to a page would take at least a minute or two. Its just not worth the hassle. With my new semi-PDA phone I can get online in a few seconds, so I use it a lot more often.
