Do you use a USENET news service?

I am looking into some outside news services such as newsguy, giganews, and especially interested in newsfeeds.

My setup at home consists of 3 windows XP machines and a 2 Mac G4's on a Netgear FR114P 5 port router (not that it matters). I have Optimum Online cable which gives some amazing speeds (5-8mbps down/800-1000kbps up). I use their news server (news.optonline.net) with Xnews or MT-Newswatcher. I remember when I first started DLing my bandwidth was decent (1-2mbps). After a few weeks of heavy usage I think I got capped or something. I didnt use it for a few months other then some light reading, no DLing. Now when I try to DL I get terrible speeds of only about 50-200kbps and often it swings down to below 50kpbs speeds. I might as well have a 56k modem.

So, now that it takes me forever to DL and my retention seemed to have gotten worse, I am looking at some outside news services. Newsfeeds seems to have the best bang for the buck. The premium package for $19.99/month has a very nice 13GB a day cap which with another popular service like Giganews would cost well over $140/month. They also boast 18 servers and over 100,000 groups. http://www.news-service.to/ seems to be good as well but they focus alot on encryption, anonymity, and adult content which I really am not interested in nor care about. my main focus is in 3D animation, video, and audio recording. Newsfeeds has individual binary servers soley dedicated to audio, video and multimedia so that attracts me alot. I think I may try a month of the premium ($19.99/13GB per DAY), if I like it I will probably sign on for a year ($139 annual/comes to $14/month).

So, some opinions:
What do you think happened to my cable news service? Capped?
Do you use a news service? What is it, how much, and how do you like it?
Anyone here use Newsfeeds?
Any recommendations?

thanks

I would have to say that GigaNews is one heck of an NNTP provider. Two days ago, I was downloading 195KB/s (yes, those be bytes, as I'm on fiber).
