I currently don't, but I notice that the bottom of the mouse gets dirty and I often have to clean it and wipe it so that I can move it easily. Otherwise I notice a difference in the ability to move it around.
It's so funny, we sell these mousepads at work that are "Specifically designed for optical mice!" at work. 'cuz yeah, normal mousepads won't work or something and these mousepads "improve performance"
No way man. I have an MS wireless optical wheel mouse and keyboard, and I just lounge back and use the mouse on my jeans or a pillow or whatever is close at hand. Much more comfortable.
I use two different ones. One is a Coconut Monkey mousepad from pcgamer that says "Hands off my monkey!" and another is the mousepad from the first computer we owned that had a mouse. Its this funky green hard mousepad that's GREAT for mousing. It's like 10-15 years old and it still works great
