Do you use a "Download Accelerator?"

I used to use Flashget until I discovered Free Download Manager. Does everything the more popular ones do plus it's free.

I use Flashget. Used to use Star Downloader, but it freezes up all the time. It was crap anyway. Might check out free download manager.

i use ONLY downthemall the firefox plugin.. the absolute best and easiest ive ever messed with period...

freaking rocks..

I like using the stock IE browser, just because I feel that anything else is extra and unneccesary (for me that is) because I won't ever get a virus from IE and I won't use the extra features in firefox. Just nice to be able to type in URLS practically anywhere in windows and have the browser integrated.

As for the download manager, I was more interested in the ability to open many simultaneous connections to a site to download at mega fast speeds. I used DAP for a while, but it just feels like there is a lot of extra crap. I don't know, something about it is just off.

I could never find one that I liked. All of them had quirky interfaces except the paid ones. GetRight was good, but I'm not gonna buy it. There should be a download accelerator built-in to the browsers.

I don't use them and had a hard time understanding why anyone would use them. But then when a client wanted to download all the links on a page (for a Pathways estimate in EMS format) I finally understood the use for it. It works great for that sort of stuff... There was 17 little files that the user had to download off of progressive's website and the same part, there were only a few K in size... Anyway, the program works great for that. But I still don't use one personally.

see my post.... downthemall is free and is a plugin for FF.. it becomes intregrated,

For video lectures at my school, I wrote a script to automate the download process to get entire classes without having to click through page after page.
