Do you trust people with BCC?

I've been burned several times by BCC recipients doing a reply all and causing me grief. Without even thinking about it now, I just send an email to the intended public recipients, then forward a copy to the person(s) I would have bcc'd, so that if they hit reply all, it only comes back to me and the limited group I forwarded to.

Has anyone else stopped using BCC, or come up with some other method for dealing with BCC retards?

I try to never BCC anymore because people are indeed morons. I just forward directly to them afterwards if necessary.

I never use BCC in an office setting as people will see it as you trying to hide something. And as mention if they reply all then it screwed you over.

I do use it if I need to send out some kind of mailing list though, that way the receivers don't see the emails of who it was sent to so if by chance one of them has a virus or somehow a spammer got on the list, they can't harvest the emails.

I liked working in a depot where everyone was within walking distance. Anything I dont want public I just walk over and say personally.

lol texas

When Texas gets email at some point later this century, then you'll understand. No need to worry yourself about such things just yet, cowboy.

Umm, he needed an email account to sign up for the forums.

Never BCCed before. I guess I don't see the point.

I use BCC when I want to let person A (usually a manager) know that I've followed up with person B on something (usually a developer).

Instead of sending A a separate email "hey Bob, I did tell Leroy Jenkins to add the new voice chat toolbar button to OurApp" I just BCC him on the email to Leroy.

I work with smart people, so the BCC recipients don't reply-all back to me.

It depends. Certain people understand when they are bcc on an email, others are oblivious. That determines whether I forward to them or bcc them.
