Do you trust console games anymore?

Console games are ok, but, they are starting to get buggy.. ie, enter the matrix and gran turismo 2 (you cant finish the gaem with 100%)

So, even though they have games you cant get on the PC, with out the ability to patch a console game it makes me wary of them more now then it ever has....

It's becoming more like a PC.

Games start to crash as well, the GameCube console in particular.

I'm sure in less than 5 years everyone will be using a PC to game.

I trust console games only to tell me time, any other reason, they aren't trustworthy.

I left a console game with my hot sub from Subway in the same room...I came back an hour later and the console game let it get cold!!!!

DIRTY BASTID!

t60: I've been noticing that the PS2 seems to crash the most, followed by the xBox. The only thing I can think behind the Xbox crashes is that developers are thinking "we can issue patches" and taking a PC attitude towards it. The PS2 is just more difficult to work with.

Star wars knights of the old republic has quite a few bugs - at least one of which is game-stopping if you encounter it and don't have an earlier save.

Very unacceptable.

The biggest bug I have run into are in Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. If you did one certain thing and didn't have a saved game far enough back then you are just SOL last I checked.

Thank goodness I have a modded xbox because someone posted a hack for the saved game so you could get by it. Otherwise I was going to return the game. I wasn't going to invest 30 more hours into the game because of a bug. I feel sorry for the people with a non-modded xbox who run into the issue without a saved game.

I'm sure you're wrong.

Yeah, I noticed that too.. a minor one we ran into was during a conversation with a few characters.. when you went to select what you were going to say it would not accept the choice unless you moved the cursor up and then back down.

Things like that just show that not enough time are put into console games. At least on the PC you can get patches for such things.

I have been playing games on a console for many, many years and VERY rarely have I had it crash on me.

Most of the problems I ever had were with the my NES.

And I don't understand why so many people here are against playing games on consoles. It's like you have some stigma attached to playing games on your TV. While I agree that a lot of good games are available on the PC, most of the games I want to play nowadays (sports, RPGs, etc) are more fun for me to play on a console.

Why would I want to play Madden 2004 on my 20" LCD when I can play it on my couch, with my friends, on my 32" or 57" TV?

no major probs with my box...and while I like the PC for games like Halflife, a console is just nice for stuff like midtown madness and also fighting games...I would be too worried about ripping a controller out of my PC ...the console just allows for a little more flexibility with friends and relaxation whereas my PC does not.

I've beat kotor twice and I have yet to encounter a "threatening" bug. The most significant bug i encountered was one that made the screen go black. That was easily fixed by saving the game and loading the save.
