Do you truly believe in equalness between men and women?

In my opinion, if men and women were truly equal, then why should the man have to pay for everything when they go out on a date? Also, if a woman truly wants equality, why dont we just get rid of womens sports (like womans basketball, olympic sports, etc) and men and women could compete for the same position? Discuss.

Try dating women who are ugly but rich losers compared to you, and let them pay for everything. You could even lead them on by flirting a bit to get them to buy things you want for you. Turn the tables!

Physical inequality between the sexes is obvious and genetic and something we can't control. Men are larger than women. But Civil/Political equality is something we can control.

Nope.
Women wanted it back in the 70's.
Then they realized they couldnt handle real equality.

So now they want all the benefits of both with none of the liabilities.

No.

Women want to have their cake and eat it too. The whole equal rights, feminist crusade is a bunch of pure crap.

subsciring to the liberal ideology, i should believe in equality everywhere. as a matter of practicality, i recognize there is equality no where.

LOL, that is it in 4 short sentences.

A few quotes from some feminist leaders:

"Everytime a man dies by suicide, every woman becomes a little safer,
happier and more fulfilled." - Elena Goldenberg, NARAL meeting,
Washington, D.C. 1999.

"For men: their rights and nothing more. For women: their rights and nothing less!" - Susan B. Anthony

Does that sound like 'equality' to you?

no.
women complain about equality while at the same time say you're an ass if you don't hold the door for them

Men and women are different. The word equal used in this context is pointless, as differing viewpoints would dictate what being better or worse is. Obviously, people aren't equal in any respect. That's based on a person to person basis, and not gender to gender.

And I agree. However, I dont mind spending money on my gf and doing stuff for her because we love each other. She loves to do things for me, like cook, do laundry, tell me how handsome I am, and things like that. Its a good realtionship overall, but I tend to be Male chauvinistic many times just because its the way I think, maybe it was the way I was brought up. For example, when I see a male driving down the street bad I just think he is an a$$hole. But when I see a woman dricing down the street very badly I just think "oh, its cause its a woman".

However, the best time of my life so far has been with my gf. So what am I complaining about?

What's your point?

Your post does not, in any way, undermine my point that the feminist movement is not about equality between sexes.

That's right. They want equal rights when it's convenient for them. Not all the time.

But there is no equality. Heck, all men aren't even equal, much less women and men.

The list you linked to only proves that there are some feminists who hate men. It proves nothing about the feminist movement.

Here's a list of feminist quotes that shows the feminist movement IS about empowering women so they are no longer considered less than men. This too is a cherry picked list... my point is that one shouldn't make such broad generalizations about entire political/social movements.

People can be equal without being the same. And equal rights is about equality of opportunity, not a ratings system for who is better at this or that task.

What is the point of this thread ? You need to feel superior to someone for some reason ?
