Do you touch type?

I can touch type, but I usually don't. It's a psychological thing. Most of my letters are wearing off, and it's dark so I can't really see what I'm doing anyway, but I still want to look all the time.

mostly touch type. on bad days when i mess up a lot i start peeking though... i always give a little glance down when i start though.

I have my hands behind me back and have a Rotring pen in my mouth pecking furiously at the keys like one of those water powered dodo birds!

I cannot type very well without seeing the keyboard. That said, I don't really look at the keyboard either. I kind of have the keyboard vaguely in my field of view and my fingers seem to find the keys well enough. I never learned to type properly, but I spend 8 hours a day or more in front of a computer, often typing things, so I've gotten fairly good at doing it the wrong way.

I should just learn to type properly, but every time I try, it seems so damn slow.

It's funny, I touch type, but I only type fast when typing actual words. If I'm taking a typing test and there aren't real words, I'm always slower.

i never had a keyboard class in HS or college :cry;

I can type fast if i'm typing a thought.
If i'm typing something from a document... it won't be quite as fast

WTF's touch type? Like close my eyes when I type? No, I don't look at the freaking keyboard when I type.

I can touch type without looking if I'm typing up a sentence (like this one right now) or chatting.

If I'm told press a specific key though, like in a game or an app, I have to look i.e. "press C to continue" <looks down and finds C>

I rarely look at the keyboard except when I need one of those pesky F# keys. When typing something I am thinking about (such as this), I will often look elsewhere, like the tv or just randomly off into space. It confuses people and sometimes people think I am typing about them.

ME 2! This is sig material!

I do some sort of predominantly 4 finger, occasionally 6 fingers + thumbs touch type.

Onlt thing I ever use pinkies for is shift/enter, I think

Well now you leave the the 2 finger hunt and peck method, but I can type rather well with 2 fingers, after so long, I can actually type some 60-80WPM (I know it's not the fastest, but not slow) without looking using 2 fingers. Its hard to break such a long time habit, I've tried to type the correct way, but it never works out for me.
