the person who hand dries your car at the carwash places that still has someone around to do that?

If so, how much?

Only in high seas or when the stabilizers aren't deployed.

Technically that is rolling. ;)

Hmm...it made better sense in my head. Edited for much needed clarity

The extra few dollars I pay upfront for stuff like that is enough for me. I've only done it a few times, but if you are to dry anything on the car please dry my mirrors! They never do so when I'm staring at wet mirrors I don't want to reach into my wallet.

I usually tip $2-$3 when I go through a car wash with a hand dry. Those guys are out their working hard and they always seem to do a good job on my car.

I tip 4 to 5 before the wash. They seem to pay better attention to my vehicle when drying and doing the windows.

Never been to one of those places. But I suppose if I went there and they did good work I'd toss em a couple of bucks.

It's encouraged. Too bad for them I don't usually carry cash with me.

You could probably get away w\ grabbing a few beers before you goto the car wash and leaving them for tip.

I tipped the guy who drove me home from the dealer yesterday as my car's getting worked on. Because of the tip jar, I would be compelled to tip those guys who'd make swirl marks on my car at the car wash too... but I don't bring it to them. Wash on my own - it really sucks during winter though.

Back when I lived in Calif, usually give em a couple bucks. Since the place was next to my work, they remembered me, and they'd do a little extra like armor-all the tires for free or whatever.

Last week I had my windows tinted in my car, and when I paid using the CC and got the receipt for my sig, there was the Tip line which threw me off a little. Should I have left a tip?

that tip line is always there though, you should tip if you feel they deserve it but from the places i've been, it was never expected or custom.
