Do you tip the pizza delivery guy?

Don't you know the delivery guy don't get the delivery fee or any potion sometimes? The business gets that & a lot of time they don't even pay the guy mileage, he has to claim it on his taxes for .33 cents a mile or some crap. There is a place in my city that they don't even pay an hourly wage, it's $2 a delivery + tips and a lot of people don't tip. I always tip $3-$5 to cover his time and gas and being out in the elements to bring me my food. I never get a cold pizza & it usually gets to my door in 20 minutes instead of 45 minutes!

Its a hard job when you have 3 orders out the door and one of them is already 10 minutes late. Sometimes drivers have 4 orders and it takes 15-30minutes for them to get out the door. So.. please tip

Maybe where you live they make $5/hr but here in Cali, everyone makes minimum wage. Add into that just driving around and taking pizzas is a low end job and if they need a higher paying job they can go get one.

yeah, but rent is more than likely double or triple the other states with a lower minimum wage. that and most pizza delivery drivers are students or immigrants that don't have enough work experience or the connections to get a better paying job :roll:

No i don't. I already paid for the pizza and i also pay $2.50 for delivery. Why should i also tip the pizza guy? I am confused who is the employer of the pizza guy, me or the person that he is working for. Why am i supposed to pay pizza company plus pay additional to the pizza guy when i am already paying delivery charge.

Because if they bring me cold pizza, i will call to complain, the company will have to give pizza either for free or deliver me another pizza. It cost company money either way, and driver will be punished.

Do people even take you seriously? I'd say you're pretty close to being a kitty.

That $2.50 goes mainly to the pizza place. Some of it might be used as a kickback to the driver to help cover his gas. Tipping the driver is for him doing his job well - getting the pizza to your house before it gets cold. I hope you never order from the same pizza place, you might get a little special sauce the next time you order delivery.

It's not my fault they choose not to get a better job. They choose to work there and EXPECT to get tips when they're already making minimum wage. So I'm supposed to feel bad for them cus they're an immigrant or in college??? So are most people working at Home Depot, Walmart, McDonald's, etc. Is their work less hard??? Tipping in this country is out of hand. We tip some people and not tip others who do the same or even harder work.

Find another job if you're not happy...it's simple i should not pay extra because your employer is not paying what you feel is enough. You're an agent of the employer from whom i ordered the food and to whom i agree to give x amount of money in exchange for food. Your job is to bring me that food and make the exchange. I a not responsible for giving anything more then what i agree to pay for your boss.
