Why is it so hard to find a card that actually looks cool and STAYS looking cool after abuse in your wallet?

Personally, I loved the look of this one when it was new, but the silver print on the numbers rubbed off super quick:

The clear + RFID Amex Blue Sky card:

looks OK but after a year or two it doesn't look so hot either.

I think Citi got it right with that black one, if they could just fix the print, I would use it more often.

These are examples of ugly boring cards that I do not feel like using:

If you're converting people over from Wachovia, don't you want them excited? They sent me ^this boring thing.

One of mine looks boring and one looks ugly. Good thing they spend 99.999% of their life in my wallet.

I once had a gold card reminiscent of the Maxell XLIIS cassette tape. It was my favorite.

if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

tl;dr: preference

Seems silly to say you won't use a card because of the way it looks, I happen to care more about the rewards I get for using it. As long as it's not like goatse on it, I would use it.

I thought it was cool when it first came out but the charm wore off. I liked the prior design better: it was like this:

It's shiny on front and silver on the back with silver magnetic stripe (yeah I know the black version has it too). Also, I liked that it flipped over top-bottom. Most cards flip left-right (the back would be "upside down" if you flipped them top-bottom).

My favorite "pick-the-design" card was my Capital One credit card. I can't find a pic and don't have a camera...but was a Sun+Moon tarot-style color drawing.
Kind of like this:

.
I freaking loved that card. Still have it saved. It was replaced with a vanilla grey+teal design. Interestingly enough, it's also another top-bottom flipper.
Ugly:

My favorite as-is card is probably the Victoria's Secret "Angel V.I.P" card. (it's the white one in the back of this pic)

White design with silver lettering, also the stripe was silver. I guess I like silver stripes!
