I ran a game server yesterday and am thinking of keeping it up 24x7, however I used up nearly 9 GB in uploads in one day alone  Even though this is legit, legal (i.e. not torrents ) would it piss Verizon off at all? I took it down just because the bandwidth usage was such a shock and I wanted to see if anyone else had experience with this...or am I just being paranoid?

I've never run a server because I hardly ever leave my machines running 24/7. All I can recommend it that you either call Verizon and ask them ... or just continue running the server and see if they complain.

I will add this ... from my experience Verizon is pure evil (I have my reasons for feeling this way).

I thought running a server like that was against the TOS?

If you had a business line then maybe, but not the "home" plan.

You also may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time for the Service, or use the Service to host any type of server. Violation of this section may result in bandwidth restrictions on your Service or suspension or termination of your Service.

Welp, that settles that. Marlin mentioned TOS and I didn't even think to check it.

BV : It's actually Doom, of all games. I can't believe so much bandwidth gets used up :$

Run it.
And if and when they say anything, pull it down then.
Chances are they won't ever say a damned thing.
