Do you think this mail in rebate will be honored ?

I bought 2 sticks of ram today from futureshop. AZENRAM 256 2700 DDR, 29$ after a 40$ mail in rebate, each. (this is CDN funds).

At futureshop they give you a copy of the receipt to send in with the rebate form for whatever product. I only got one rebate form and one copy of the receipt for both sticks of ram, and another set of forms for a webcam I bought.

Anyway, so I figured I'd need a copy of the receipt and a rebate form for both sticks of ram. The receipt reads as 139.98 for 2 sticks of the ram. The guy at futureshop said that the company should rebate both sticks, but the form only says 40$ rebate, when it should be 80$ since there are two sticks of ram. So I can either mail in the single receipt and the single rebate form and maybe put a note that says "Hey look, I bought 2" or I can go and return the ram and buy it back again, this time seperately and get two seperate forms. Problem there is that I know it will be sold out.

So what do you think ?

Two seperate receits, two seperate forms. Most likely you'll need two different addresses as the rebates will be limited to "One per household" or something to the same effect.

Is there a "one per household" restriction in effect anywhere on the rebate form you received?

If not you're good to go. Either photocopy the rebate form you've got, or if you want to be really picky head back to FS and have them print out another rebate form (all they need is the 7-digit numeric product ID of the RAM you bought and the date of purchase, just ask any employee near a cash to do it).

If the restriction exists, go to the returns desk tomorrow (I'd personally wait a few days, the lines tomorrow are going to be terrible) and explain the situation. They'll issue you a refund and then you can re-purchase the RAM right there to end up with two receipts. Then use one rebate at one address and the second at a friend's.

All of the above has been stated by an ex-FS employee.

Example 49324 of why I don't bother with rebates anymore. You'll probably never see any of your money from a technicality.

Not really true. I'd say I submitted my first rebate ever six months ago. I've submitted about 4 more since then. I've had them all paid within 2 months. I usually submit all of them with copies of the UPCs and reciepts, so they know I still have the originals.

No I've received all of my rebates from futureshop, little slow but they do work their way back to me. The receipt says that there is "a limit of 2 (two) rebates per customer", so I guess I'm good to go.

Thanks a lot guys.
