i got to know this girl during summer school at the dorm. she was a dormer for a year now but never got to talk to her before or anything. until when summer started...
She's not the most beautiful girl I've seen in my life, nor is she the ugliest. she looks good, not spectacular or anything...
so yeah one day she asked me to tutor her for Summer School science. She was asking me because I'm bilingual and since she's not a fluent english speaker she wanted me to tutor her in Korean. so I accepted it, $8 an hour. so yeah I'm tutoring her and stuff and we hung around during lunch, talked during study hall and built friendship and Korean-style brother-sister thing.
so this one time she asked me if I tried this one Korean candy (knowing that I'm almost completely stupid when it comes to knowledge about my own country). It's basically melted sugar wound up on a wooden stick, kinda like cotton-candy, except it's not fluffy, when it dries it becomes this solid piece of mass... anyway, about a week later, she took me to the kitchen and she brought some brown sugar and was melting it, so I asked "what are you trying to do?" and she responded with a smile on her face, "ppoki" (i dunno what the hell that's supposed to mean... apparantly "ppoki" is the name of that food...). after about 20 minutes of wrestling with the damn chopstick and the half-assed oven, she handed over the finished product and said "It's a gift!" It didn't taste good at all but I said "it's good", nonetheless. that was the sweetest thing that happened to me this summer.
but wait, that's not all, when it was time for her to pay me $50 for the tutoring fee (it's really $80 but I only asked $50 for it... 10 hours of tutoring), all of a sudden she just came out of nowhere and I felt skin in my hand... she was giving me the cash from behind and she tucked the money between my fingers. her hand was...... soft.... although cold 😛
and finally, summer school ended. We were on the same flight back to Korea, our homeland. so yeah I was looking out the airport window and someone plopped down next to me, guess what, it was her again. so we got on the plane together and when we were looking for our seats she said "Let's sit together". so she asked the gentlemen sitting next to me if she can change seats with her so she can sit next to me. omfg, I was speechless... so for the first time in my life, a flight was not boring. she asked me to get beer for her so she can go to sleep 😀 so I got a can of beer (and I'm only 16! bad KAL) and we shared... dang had to go to the bathroom 3 times in the bathroom. later on the girl asked for cards in the airplane so we played cards... played this one game where we have to smack down on the cards... damn everytime two cards with the same number came up there was hand contact 😀
and then we got off the plane in Korea and she was sooooo happy to be back. so she was like "yay" and she hopped on me and gave me a hug in front of like 20 people (wtf?).
and she said she wanted to meet me in Korea, go around places and go watch a movie, meet before 12 and get lunch, go home in the night... too bad that didn't work out. stupid mom. :| :| :|
So what do you guys think, do you think she likes me? When she wanted to meet me, was she asking me out? or is it the Korean sister-brother respecting kinda thing (the social heirarchy in Korea is gay, requires anyone younger to speak-up to someone older and respect)?
thanks for any reply (and sorry for the long post) 🙂
