Do you think they'll take it back?

I just picked up a CD set at Barnes & Noble. Naturally, after I get home and pop it open and start listening, I see the same CD set on Amazon for half the price (I paid 50, Amazon's asking 26). Do you think I can take it back on account of being completely ripped off? For that matter, the packaging describing the "Bonus DVD" is ridiculously misleading.

Long shot, but whaddya think?

Buying a CD from one retailer with the intent of defrauding another is completely unethical. This thread is locked while we discuss what actions we plan to take with all those involved.

Most likely if opened you can only exchange it for the same item. You'll probably have to get a manager and make a huge scene to get it back.

Being a former B&N employee, no. And you only have yourself to blame, never buy CDs or DVDs from that store. It's ALWAYS cheaper somewhere else.

Well, as I think I indicated in my OP, it was a box set-3 CDSs+DVD+a book (not a jacket, an actual book).

Alternately, go exchange your existing cd set.. don't open the new one. Go to another B&N and return there...

Books are always cheaper somewhere else too. I wonder sometimes if B&N and Borders are just Starbucks with a REALLY big selection of reading material.

You didn't get ripped off. You were able to go right in and buy it at a price that you were comfortable with paying.

Don't fucking shop after a purchase. This happens a lot when you kinds of cheap bastards pick ground shipping and then realize every week electronics pricing usually falls a little.

You just adding you are trying to scam B&N by packaging you intend to repurchase is equally unethical.

They should give justice roadside to people like this. The scaling of it is why our country and the rest of the world is so fucked up.

Also many items are packaged/labeled specifically for certain vendors now. SKU's may differ and there may be 'packaged for XYZ companies' on it.

For $20 chalk this up to low IQ.

If it's the same packaging, just purchase it at amazon.com and return it to B&N. They get their stuff back and can resell it and you get your money back.

Even though it's been asked, why the hell would you buy anything from a B&M nowadays when 99% of the time, you can get it cheaper online?

 and if the packing is different should he screw amazon with a return or eat the second one?

Whoa, there, slugger. Take a chill pill. We're not talking about child rape here.

Phew, some people just love making mountains out of mole hills, making themselves seem like some big tough guy.
