I'm reading Watchmen, and it kinda has me wondering.... do you think the world would be any different if Watergate had never happened?

The media would still be less intrusive, before Watergate the media never tried to investigate every little crack in a person, and they never tried to assinate people's character. Now anything for the media is a story, even if it means destroying a person.

Really hard to say. The ultimate lesson of Watergate was that Presidents can break the law with impunity. Nixon resigned of his own free will. Ford pardoned him before the justice system could even evaluate Nixon's actions. The result has been Presidents engaging in every kind of illegal behavior from lying about sex to war crimes.

Are you kidding? Jimmy Carter would have never won and the Democratic party would have been no more.
