1. The foreign ministry (who?) have confirmed that he IS in Afghanistan.

2. The Taliban saying that they will NOT turn him over and that they WILL defend him.

I have heard that even if a guest in your house has killed your borther, you can't, according to Afghan custom, raise your hand against him as long as his guest status applies. I have heard that this is not just a custom, but a powerful, and deeply ingained one. Such things are one reason you need to understand who you are dealing with. as it would have been better to take down David Koresh, or what ever his name was, when he was out jogging, it might be better to find out if there is aa way to remove that guest status business.

i'm actually hoping they wont, only because i feel that if they hand his dirty ass over to us, the U.S. will not attack Afghanistani bastards and other Middle Eastern countries that deserve to get their asses kicked. Allright here's the deal. There are thousands of tribal groups in Afghanistan fighting for control - as the case has been in that country for the last several thousand years. The only thing that gives the Taliban control of 95% of Afghanistan, is that they are the only group that has a Saudi Billionaire backing them up. If the Taliban were to hand over Osama bin Laden (an impossibility I would say, since he's the real power behind the throne), they would be murdered by their own people.

I doubt the taliban will surrender him and I doubt he will surrender. I'm sure if we ever find him he'll be strapped with dynamite and the largest piece that will be left of him won't be enough to feed a rat.
