there will be solid state hard drive coming out soon? ones that can hold capacities of 30 gigs...or maybe even 100 gigs. is that even possible with solid state devices?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

otherwise we would have used solidstate from the start.

Hell, you could even use vacuum tubes.. one tube per bit.. there were some 3-triode 9pin minis (about 1/2" x 1").. so that would be 3 bits. damn. that would be fuckin' massive

i guess the other question i should ask is are these solid state devices that can hold high capacities relatively small? or are they a lot bigger than the hard drives of today?

1.2 GB is in the $350s. damn expensive.

But worth it if your server needs to produce content without having to worry about drive access speed and/or moving part failure.
