personally, I've never noticed a big difference, especially with produce.

the only thing outside of the standard that I swear by is empire kosher chicken... tastes miles better than anything I've ever bought at a grocery store, free range or not.

Sometimes organic food tastes worse because they don't add chemicals that make it taste better than it really is. Lots of chemicals make food taste good. I can't think of an example, though.

Not much difference. What is "Organic" anyways? No pesticides? You know that many farmers don't use them anyways on a fair portion of their crops. We grow what could be considered "Organic" hay and have cows that are feed off of it. So would that mean we have Organic beef? And if so can we mark up the price respectively?

Yeah, for the most part the whole "Organic" movement is just a way to get saps to pay more for their food. Its like buying nike brand shirts because they are better then regular shirts...

God yes. I demand MSG in my Chinese food. If I was worried about my health I wouldn't be eating Chinese take-out would I?

If 'ormones are injected to the cows, then the beef stops being organic.

Its because of the diet. More bugs=more yellow yolks. Ever seen those yellow bug gut splatters on windshields? :)

It depends on what it is. I can taste a definate better difference in hormone free/organic milk. I also notice in apple sauce, most veggies/fruits, chicken and beef.

I read In Defense of Food. It was an interesting read. Maybe I'll read Omnivore's Dilemma as well.

Possibly, but there are a number of other factors that go into USDA Organic certification.

Somewhat, but long-term effects of all the hormones and shit that they feed livestock is not good for you.

Free range bird/ wild caught fish taste better than range-restricted/farm raised. As for organic though, who the hell knows what that really means these days.

organic does not mean there is no pesticides. it just means organic pesticides were used.

free range chicken tastes completely different, but then I think the breed's usually different too.
