Do you think it is worth it to get a soundblaster Platinum over an xtreame just for the phono port?

anyway as you know, I play guitar and I would like to plug it into my pc so I can play record and mix my playing. Now I cannot find any cards with a phono port so I need to get something like this...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102190

but THAT card send the xtreame are exactly the same except tgis has the panel and the remote...

so what do you think? If there is another solution that would be cool too...

thanks

They have monopolized the gaming end with eax etc., but when it comes to music, at the consumer level, they are surpassed easily by m-audio and others. With serious professional recording etc, don't even mention them or you will be laughed at. Research these other samples.
Creative are marketing experts and put out new products quickly with poor software. If you want to really bloat your system use them.
It's a shame Creative has so much money behind them, because they caused the demise of much better competetors over the years.

M-audio rocks

By phono do you mean a quarter inch jack? That's what these are for

But part of a good guitar's sound is the way tube amplifiers sound. Cut your rig out of the sequence it will probably sound weird.

no, RCA are consider phono as well. and RCA connectors are totally different than 3.5mm and 1/4" plugs.

Phono == generic term. You need to specify. And I gave you a $2 solution you can try before spending the money on a sound card. Jeez.
