Do you think insurance would cover this...

I was driving on the highway the other day. I was behind a suburban and some kind of dump truck. All of a sudden the suburban slams on the brakes and a wave of rocks flies over it. A big one that at the time looked like a damn boulder (it was about the size of my fist) bounced once then slammed into my bumper. The bumber is all gouged and scratched from the rock and part of the chrome trim is all messed up. I have full coverage. I'm giving them a call tomorrow or so when I have time to deal with this. Meanwhile, I must browse ATOT. ;)

I am assuming the rocks came from the dump truck? It is their responsibility to make sure their cargo is secured. The driver of the dump truck should pay for your damage.

Would that be something the driver paid, or the corporation (if any) s/he works for?

If you have full coverage, I don't see why you wouldn't be covered...but if your insurance has to pay anything, doesn't your premium go up?

It wasn't really a dump truck, it looked like something they would use in construction, like for gravel or something when fixing a road. I don't know if my premium would go up or not. The last time I had to make a claim it was for an accident that wasn't my fault. My premium didn't go up then. Atleast, I don't think it did (it was 4 years ago).

And all last week I was thinking about getting a car bra...
