Do you think I should get this computer?

What do you guys think? I saw this on Bens, and the deal is AWESOME. But it's a Celeron, AND it's a Compaq. I REALLY want to get my parents a computer. Their old one is dying, always freezing, always crapping out, just totally unreliable.

All he does is web surfing, some streaming music, and simple Office Docs. I just need some re-assurance here guys. Thanks.

Total with that, and a Canon printer (Without monitor, but we already have one) would be $229.

I know the price is awesome, but it's the Compaq/Celeron angle that's making me hesitate.

Thanx in Advance.

My parents have been using a 2.5 GHz Celeron from Compaq for about a year now. Their old K6-500 died and they needed a basic computer. Honestly, I've had no complaints with it. It's plenty fast enough to handle any sort of mundane task (heck, a P-III 850 can handle all the basics just fine). The newer Celerons aren't bad chips, they just aren't suited for heavy gaming or graphics manipulation in Photoshop or things like that. For the uses you describe, that computer should be perfectly fine.

Alright, well I took the plunge. Thanks. It should definitely be fine for what they use it for. I wanted to get one of those Dell Deals with an LCD, but I can't wait THAT long. And I couldn't spend too much right now.
