After a longtime of waiting for DVD drives to come down in price I finally forked out 69 dollars for a 16X Toshiba. My question to you all is do you think a DVD decoder is necessary for smooth playback? I dont have the DVD player yet, it is still in the mail so I dont know what playback will be like... My system specs are:
PIII850 @ 900MHz
Abit BE6 mobo
256 MB PC133 RAM (actually running at 100 because of processor)
SoundBlaster Live
30GB Western Digital Ultra 100 on a Ultra 66 Highpoint Card (average transfer rate ~30megs per second)
Geforce2 GTS 32MB
Windows 2k
~as a side note I'm using 5 of the 8 IDE connectors , as this may play a role in used system resources
Thanks in advance
