Yeah, it'll probably be more like 5950U vs. 9800XT (minus the huge Achilles heel of the 5950, PS2.0).Originally posted by: Viper96720
No they'll probably be about the same ATI being faster in some games Nvidia in others. Won't be like 9700 vs 5800

I think it is.

If they are equal in performance then ATI still wins with better IQ, stability (MS crash info)
And as for the IQ, someone obviously hasn't seen the new screens taken from the 6800U.

Yes I have, and its roughly the same as Ati, not very much different...

ATI is by no means more stable then Nvidia, nv usually has better game compatability thanks to better drivers (historically). As to the quality, the screenies over at firingsquad have me convinced that nvidia has caught up in IQ.
For performance predictions, the X800 XT at 600 mhz, even if it's nothing more then a 9800 running at 600 mhz will be a solid performer. Then double the pipes over the current 9800 and were talking 6800 Ultra league. I think it'll be close, hopefully the midrange cards drop to the 200 - 250 range quickly, I've had this 9700 Pro in my main rig a long time and I'm itching for an upgrade. If the performance is close I'm goin nvidia, had some game issues with my 9700 Pro starting in the last few months.

If ATI can match the 6800U with 1 molex connector, I will be VERY impressed. They just might do that with lower transistor count.
