Nope. Don’t believe the trolls are paid russian actors. They freely wish to spread their misinformation

If you question if someone is deliberately spreading Russian disinformation (for whatever reason, paid or no) an easy way is to ask them to criticize Russia and/or especially Putin in any way. If they refuse any and all criticism, no matter how mild, they are disinfo peddlers.

Their supervisor is slick enough to get close to the red line. But is still dead certain to never cross it.
The minions never dare say a word that could even look bad for Russia.

Absolutely. Moderately active forums are probably low-hanging fruit for such disinformation campaigns. It would be easy enough for a single person to be spewing their nonsense across dozens of sites simultaneously.

From now on we should just reply to their comments with this image and nothing else!

Not directly. A legacy forum for a defunct Future property is just way too low on the priority list.

But have low-information forum participants been influenced by Russian-sponsored content on X, RT”News”, OANN, and other sites—especially when amplified by Russia sympathizers in Congress or on FOX News? You betcha.

The grasshopper poster is clear Russian sock puppet
My take is that . . . maybe, possibly . . . but they get their lying BS asses handed to them with extreme prejudice and the "truth" thereby gets clarified and underlined and reinforced.

I never fear that the truth won't prevail, at least here, so it doesn't bother me if a poster is a sock puppet. My personal opinion is that grasshopper may be, but also can just be a fanboy of his views. And, like most fanboys, he doesn't do a convincing job of furthering his side of things.

Yes, I have no idea why he is lying. Could be getting paid, could be one of a dozen other things.

What I am confident of though is that he knows he is spreading lies and doesn’t care.

I suppose it’s possible, but I really wonder if ATPN is “important” enough for the ruskies to bother with.
IMO, at least one of them was essentially an original here. Before the war. Before the reasons to hate and to lie.
Probably made it personal to test and to train their minions on propaganda skills at their old haunt.

Never assume that. Any forum where information isn't immediately moderated out of existence by either an active moderator or a distributed system like Reddit is ripe for amplifying misinformation. All you need is to get lines out there for people to repeat elsewhere, that's the whole point. No forum is too small for that.

It's adorable that some of you think this place is important enough to warrant our own Russian troll.
