Finally, I just went back to Paxil and slowly weened myself off. It took me almost 8 months to get clean, and it was the hardest thing I have ever done.

After only 3 weeks on benzodiazepin (used as a sleeping aid) I suffered bigtime withdrawl problems. I had no idea your body could become addicted to a medication so quickly. Never again will I resort to crap like that.

I was insane at times. I mean it. I got so sick and tired of doctors telling me I was manic depressive and then I wasnt... back and forth on what the problem was and each on with a different perscription. This went on for 10yrs. I had the best results with Paxil but even then my mind FELT like I was on something. After two years, the results went flat. New meds. I think they were Effexor, or Wellbutrin. Dont remember. But I had convulsions. Fvcking convulsions. And nose bleeds ... unreal. the b/f rushed me to the ER it got so bad.

I went back o Paxil and decided to wean myself off them. I cut the dose by 2.5mg every three weeks. And when I first reduced.. holy cow. The bounce back depression had me borderline suicidal for a few days. then i tapered off for the rest of the 3 weeks. Then reduce again.

There were times that I was scratching one area until it rashed up. And i bit the inside of my mouth to shreds, or picked obsessively at non existant zits on my face. This was just my mental issues. The physical issues were just as bad.

To be honest.... my b/f ... we were new at the time, and he watched me end up in the ER and go borderline insane... and I took a lot of it out on him ... Most men would have run a mile, as we were like 2 months into a relationship when this started. But he just stuck by me. Bless him.

When I was finally clean, I had a rough two weeks. I mean really rough. It made the stuff I posted above look mild.

Hahaha!! I normally dont post personal stuff about myself like this on OT... so I will stop here.

:)

I was on Klonopin to help me sleep, but now I'm on something else that doesn't work. I'd keep taking Klonopin, but I don't want to become dependent. Right now I'm on Abilify, Depakote and Lexapro.

Thank you! I had to ... I had VeggieFrog. We were on our own thru most of it... no alimony, no child support, refusing all goverment aid. Just her and I. Hardly any money. And I was... well, I could not lose it. I just could not.

She was a good girl though. Helped me thru the hard times... knew when to walk on eggshells, when to give me a hug... Just giving me a reason to keep my sh!t together, ya know. Then I met the b/f. And while neither of us are really religious, he said that God told him that he was supposed to take care of me. And he did. And like I said. Most men would have run a mile.

I appreciate the props. But while it was reallly hard on me... I had a wonderful daughter and a supportive b/f to help me thru the lunacy.

My withdrawl symptoms after only 3 weeks on sleeping meds were feelings that insects were crawling on me, fast heart rate, shakes, insomnia, inability to concentrate. Terrible, terrible stuff.
