Do you support Trumps infrastructure improvement position?

Trump wants to plow a lot of money into infrastructure improvement, what's your opinion? I'm all for it, our bridges absolutely need maintenance and there needs to be massive infrastructure spending. It puts people to works and is an investment that generally results in more economic activity.

What is Trumps plan? I heard it was a bunch of tax credits and incentives for firms already working on projects rather than direct spending that will support new projects. Is that true?

I strongly support infrastructure improvement, but Trump's plan is a scam where government sells off the public highway system to private owners at extremely generous terms. The potential for corruption is more or less certain. But hey, I hope everybody likes toll roads.

My opinion is Trump still thinks magic money is going to fall from the air into his and the Elites bank accounts, while not improving infrastructure.

More bullshit.

Was a pretty speech though that didn't actually mean much.

He seems to have the Con Man level refined to a level the US is Fscked.

You mean along with cleaner water and air by gutting the EPA and fixing schools by gutting their funding?

I wasn't going to make a list, it should be obvious atm I guess.

But he likes the cheers for his ego, while still promising pie in the sky.

The speech writer did a good job he should get an Oscar, Trump just had to stick to the script.

No because it is socialism and communism and fascism. Everything the government does they fuck up and overpay. Much better that we let the free market forces fix everything because it will keep costs down. Everything would probably already be fixed by now if there was no EPA and no Obama.

Yeah, but hard to tell. From what I've seen, most that decry the EPA don't have a clue or concept as to what business was doing to the environment prior to the EPA's creation. They're coming from today's viewpoint, which if today's environment was reflective of the way the environment and pollution existed back in the 1960's and early 1970's, I believe they'd sing a different song.

Oh dude, come on... The EPA didn't prevent the Cuyahoga river from catching on fire! It didn't prevent Lake Erie from becoming one of the most polluted lakes in America, and it wasn't the EPA that cleaned it up!

jesus, learn your timelines, the EPA was well before all that happened!

You need bigger sarcasm notations, because someone could take you seriously.

Expansive fiscal policy at times when it isn't needed (i.e., when there's no recession or negative demand shocks) is a waste. This guy is a complete fucking idiot as are the drones who think this is a good use of money - hint: it isn't.

He loves blowing taxpayer money for personal benefit, and thinks the government is his personal spigot into his pocket atm, if no one has realized that by now they are seriously deluded.

But he sure like to make promises. Just believe him

If he does it as a spending bill than sure. If he does it as tax incentives to privatize roads and bridges then no.

Echo this, but...

Where was this when we had high unemployment and super low interest rates???

But all of a sudden Rs want to spend $1T on infrastructure when we are at nearly full employment and rates are rising?!

How dumb is this planning?

This is when we need to be cutting back and restocking the piggy bank, not making massive spending plans and potentially crowding out private investments. This is not 2010.

Is that a Jon Stewart 'believe me' you're referencing there? ;)

Exactly this.
