Do you suck at Math?

Picked up the Princeton Review books for Math, appropriately named Math Smart, and Smart II. I'm just brushing up on my mathematical skills before I head to college, I was pretty impressed by how well the book is written (the author is a Brown graduate).

Anyone who either blows at math, or wants to brush up prior to college should give it a look; it's a great investment.

Math Smart covers numbers, fractions, ratios and proportions, exponents and roots, algbera, geometry, probability and statistics. It's a pretty basic book, it goes all the way back to simple addition and subtraction, though. I like it, because it reviews over some of the formulas I haven't seen in over 3 years.

Math Smart II covers what you would typically learn in grade 10-12 like, Algbera, Geometry, and Trignometry (more advanced subjects than the first edition).

College math thru diff eq

im good, but i dont like it and now im out of practice

Yep, I took a year off after high school, so I wanted to brush up before I head to college. Not to mention, I've never taken calculus before (not required where I live, we do "regular" math) so I'd like to re-establish my foundations in math.

I wouldn't say I suck, because I ended up with 100% in my grade 12 math course, but I'm not very good at quickly grasping many of the concepts of math. High school math tends to be a joke, though, pretty much anyone with half a brain could get a very high mark.

I <3 Math. I'm pretty good at it.

But you suck at life, so it evens out.

hypnotic, you must stop posting. you have been here for a month and already have 1000+ posts. plus, Qosis just pwned you big time.
Anyway, i am very strong in math and it is my primary subject.

I really like the "How to Ace Calculus: A Streetwise Guide" series.

Now they need to make those for abstract algebra and topology and I'll be set for 2006.

I never liked math in high school. I rarely did my homework, and barely passed Algebra 1 and 2 due to decent test scores. But now that I am in college, I find I'm starting to love it. It's rather scary. But I guess it's good since I am a Computer Science major and have quite a bit of math ahead of me. Have to do Calc/Analytic Geometry 1-3, Linear Algebra, Discrete Strucutres... and three calculus based physics classes.

Just bought that book, will give it a run before I head to school 🙂
