do you subscribe to any magazines?

P&N news thread made me think about the death of print media... anyone out there still subscribe and actively read any magazines?

I subscribe to:

Bon Appetite
Cook's Illustrated
G&L Review Worldwide
Vanity Fair

and occasionally buy Out and Spin on the newsstand if there's a cover that catches my eye.

Maxim

Great shitter material...except after a weekend of Tequila and fried food, I get through it in one sitting.

Why cant you like boys and drive a Jeep in the mud during your off time?

That's already been exposed as a recruiting method. "Let's go get some bread, we'll four wheel on the way..."

Back to the OP: No, not anymore. I used to subscribe to a bunch of scientific journals but the price got too high and I got too busy to read them anyway.

OK, now I need to check Google for gay lingo on this mystical "bread run".

Cliffs:

- FBB and friend go out to get bread
- on the way there, they decide to go off-roading in FBB's friend's Jeep Liberty
- aformentioned Jeep Liberty gets stuck in the mud
- FBB posts from phone and everyone has some good lulz

How is it that I missed a FBB thread of such epic win?
Am I slipping in my old age?

EDIT:
My uncle got me a subscription to Maxim when I was still on the ship. Those things always arrived in such horrible condition I didnt bother renewing.
I think 50 dudes must have spanked off to it before I saw the thing, and perhaps one even shat on it.

The idea of my own magazine subscription lost its appeal after that.
For reference I have read plenty of books in lieu of magazines. Just finished Whats the Matter with California? by Jack Cashill.

National Geographic, but only because it was 20 bucks for a year.

I would subscribe to more but I get turned off having to pay double or triple in Canadian dollars when I read the fine print under the US cost (which is always an amazing deal).

Maxim, Motor Trend and a few related to golf. I think of the 5 or 6 I get I only paid for one of them and that was like $8 for 150 issues. Used to have a bunch of PC rags too, but they all went online only in the last couple of years.

Question for the Bon Appetite subscribers: Do you ever try any of the recipes and, if so, did you like it?

Question for JMapleton: How do you reconcile the architecture displayed and the staging done by the magazine?

I'm not sure as to your question. But if you're asking my opinion of the magazine's staging, I usually do not like it. They usually lean towards what's popular and rarely going towards what's daring. My style tends to be a very modern but with extravagant and regal finishes. Think the typical black and white stucco house, but with black marble and french chandeliers inside.

In most magazines, there too much leaning towards the hipster "loft" style, which is cliche.
