It really annoys me when I find some NEW awesome interesting news and wrtie it up in a little blurb and stuff with links and submit it...of course nothing happens


then 5 days later I see the same story, same info, same links on their page by another person


has anyone here ever gotten something on /.?
 
A guy I worked with about 3 or 4 years ago got a C & D letter and submitted it. I forget what the specific content was that was in question. It was before the MPAA + RIAA witch hunts though so it was probably copyright infringement or something. I just looked it up. It was over DeCSS.
 
I have in the past submitted 5 item to /., none of them got posted cause they'd rather post dupes and ads.

Keep in mind, my /. id is in the 13k range somewhere, so this is over like a period of 6-7 years.
 
I've gotten two things submitted and three rejected. When you get an accepted submission it really boosts your karma level.
 
they posted a story about Yahoo Companion now working for Firefox sometime last month. Excuse me, that has been out since February. Do they know what they're doing when picking what's good and what's not ? 😕
 
Hey someone do me a favor and post an invitation to slashdot members to post at Political Flamefest. 😉 😉 Seems like every tech discussion they have, its not long until some liberal is making a crack at Bush. And it is never relevant to the discussion although they try real hard to justify it.

Same thing happened to me...only it was about 2 years before the same story I submitted showed up...
