Simply, there is too much homework and work, priorities being done throughout the day for me_

I'd rather go outside than sit down and watch TV, or catch up with sleep at least_

Personally, I see very little benefit in staring at a television with a bunch of ads that craze the mind even more. I'm even a lesser fan of cable television.

Even when I'm not doing homework, I still find myself doing things where if I just stopped in my tracks to sit down and let television soak into my life, I'd probably go nuts_

I know some girls who's boy friends are savvy control freaks, and that alone, reminds me of how desperate some people are for a television set VS their own well being.

That's just me, though. Anyone else see this?

I do. About 1 hour per night except for weekends when football is on. I work 10-12 hours per day, but still find about 1 hour per day to sit down and relax with some tv.

I always have a TV on but that does not mean I am actually sitting there just watching it. I am usually doing something else at the same time. No difference when I was in college. I used to study and watch TV at the same time.

I don't watch a lot of live tv, but I tivo a lot of shows.

sometimes I just use it as background noise, half-paying attention to it while doing other things, and I rips shows onto a portable hard drive to watch at work when it's slow.

Just DVDs now. Some are DVDs of TV shows, but we don't watch live broadcasts anymore.

I too have the TV somewhat often, if only as noise in the background.

I find little enjoyment over current TV shows, but really enjoy the Discovery channels, TLC, travel channel, STYLE network and food network.
If I can learn something new from a program, i am happy.
PS, i work all day at a demanding job, so it is nice to come home and put a show on that i do not have to think about or watch fully.

95% of my TV viewing is DL'd from the internet (note I have paid for the apriopriate rights for these shows through cable and satelite subscriptions, I know that doesn't even technically make it legal, but IDC).

About a third of that is done on my iPod, so it really a different experience for me. I tend to watch new eps of shows I'm watch as soon as I can get my hands on em. For instance, SG: Atlantis is being broadcast early somewhere, and I get it of BitTorrent, and usually watch it as soon as it DL's with [usually] little thought to what I would currently be doing.

I also enjoy watching some of my favorite shows over in their entirety, sequentially. Such as Andromeda and SG1. Alot of shows I have seen have been watched over a very short period after they have aired in their entireties (ie I watched all of Alias in under 6 mos). When I like a show I watch a lot of it.

DVR for any primitime TV worth watching. Otherwise I am watching sports, Discovery/History type channels, or Comedy Central/Cartoon Network type shows.

I have recently got into Battlestar Galactica so now I'm starting from the beginning. Excellent series and I suppose the only reason i missed it is due to the Fri. night timeslot.

You post on this forum 6+ times a day and you have no time for tv?
