Your mind is fascinated with the extreme, because it rarely experiences it in life.

Everyone does. Most people have a spam filter in their brain too. People that don't are the ones that need medication.

someone said once and I paraphrase it here:

there is a rapist and a murderer in every male under the age of 40.

wouldn't it be nice if we all got one "free to kill a person" card once a year? that would definitely declutter the items on my ToDo list.

I never wish to harm someone without reason. But there are times that I wish I could hit or ram someone that i think is being a jerk.

Fuck...only one? Does that mean I have to continue hiding bodies the rest of the year?

I'll be walking through a crowd and I sometimes think "what if I just kicked that baby" or "what if I pushed that guy onto that glass table" then I don't because I remind myself that that would be fucked up.

At least I'm not the only one. Sometimes I'll look at a sweet old lady and all of a sudden think, what if I just went over and knocked her to the ground. Then I get pissed and scared at myself for even having such thoughts and shudder a little. But of course I don't act on it b/c it's insane!

Honestly, this thread is the reason that I can kind of "understand" people like the Columbine kids or the Oslo nutjob. Clearly, considering senseless violence is perfectly normal, and it's just some mental check, or even just selfish self-preservation, that keeps people from acting on these impulses. So all it takes is some biological difference that eliminates that filter, and you've got yourself a Grade A sociopath.

With that said, my most recurring thought is when I'm sitting in an enclosed room with coworkers or students, and I start to wonder how many I could kill with just the pen in my hand until I'm subdued. I don't ever actually act on it because, well, I'm not a mass murderer.

This thread reminds me of the movie True Lies where Arnie test drives the corvette convertible and fantasizes about whacking bill Paxton in the nose.

My imaginary friend. One of these days he won't be here to stop me though, just you wait.

Bad news. Your imaginary thread has been spreading really bad imaginary rumors about you, involving imaginary midget porn actors and very, very real tubs of Crisco.

wtf has spidey not posted?

o_O

The voices in his head told him not to. :p

But you know what? As jaw droppingly batshit insane as I find far too many of his posts, I actually like the guy. For one thing, he's a stand-up man of his word. That counts where I come from.

I actually agree. I've said the same many times here, actually. I'd buy the guy a beer.

I sometimes want to throw a cup of hot coffee at my IT manager when he starts telling me off or talking down to me.

The only reason I don't do it is because I'd probably get in trouble or lose my job.

when i was taking martial arts regularly, one time someone opened the door at the same time i was trying to open it and my first instinct was to punch him in the face (but i didn't). it was kind of neat in the sense that you always noticed where people were undefended.

Yes.

The same reason we're having this discussion/confirming that everyone else has these impulses. If you've honestly never questioned it that would categorize you as a psychopath.

I hear voices in my head sometimes. Not as much as I used to though. The inner space feels a little more lonely now.
