Yep, everytime I go outside into the sunlight I sneeze. Electric lights don't do it though; only sunlight. Always wondered what caused it. My hypothesis, which I formulated when I was bout 10, was that the sunlight heated the air, causing dust particle to float upwards into your nostrils. :)

Ironically enough, I was thinking about asking this question sometime last week but never got around to it.

Never sneezed when looking at sun.

Only allergic to pollen, dust and sawdust. :(

Sucks to 'cause I'll sneeze 3 times in a row every time I go from being inside to the outside in the sun.

same here! I often sneeze 2 or 3 times!

Yep, happens to me too. I don't think I've met anyone else before who has the same problem (although granted, it's not usually the first topic of conversation when I meet someone).

Yup I'll often do the 2-3 sneezes from indoor to outdoor in the sun... now the more pressing questions (since someone was able to get the medical definition for sunlight sneezing)... I'll sneeze the same way after eating chocolate, coffee, and cough syrup... but only after the first taste, not repeatedly in the same sitting. whats up with that? The darker the chocolate the more satisfying the sneeze.

I do this too. I always thought everyone did. I assumed it was a natural defense to protect you from staring into the sun and burning your eyes.

I have that reaction but thought it was more of a reaction to looking up cos that's where the light source usually is... Photic sneeze reflex sounds much better, I feel special.
