Do you sign envelope flaps?

I don't know where I learned this, but when I'm mailing personal or confidential information, I initial the envelope flap so that if it were to be opened and tampered with, it would be more difficult to properly reseal the envelope because the pen marks have to line up.

Oh crap, and I just realized that I addressed this envelope wrong, too. Dammit.
 
shouldnt they line up again? I mean, the envelope has a fold.. When you seal it, it is even folded more.. I could steam it open and reseal and you would have no clue?

Try it. Nobody folds an envelope perfectly (by hand, anyway). It'll be slightly offcenter, or too high, unless you're some sort of freak of nature.
