But you do see people shave up on the neck on TV a lot. Even in the stupid Gillette commercials they do that...

You realize its not about up or down.. it's WITH or AGAINST grain... meaning you follow the growth of your hairs..

i've always shaved up, against the grain. smoothest possible shave but supposedly really bad for your skin.
now i've tried switching to just down, but it's not the same.

if you just shave down you can still see the shadow when you're done....shaving up gets it very close and smooth to the touch

1st pass, I shave with the grain
2nd pass, I shave across the grain
3rd pass, I shave against the grain
