Do You Set Your Alarm to Music

Earlier this semester, I had my alarm set to start the Tantric CD. First song on the disc is "Breakdown." Good song that starts out loud to scare you awake and make sure you don't fall back asleep.

I used to set my alarm clock to a radio station... but I found out that when the radio plays soft music when my alarm goes off (which is very often, since it's a soft music radio station), it doesnt wake me up...

So now I just set it to beep, and it wakes me up consistently...

I wasted $$ to buy a radio-CDplayer-alarm-clock so that I could be waken up by the sound of music of my choice. But it turned out that it's a bad idea because the music kept me falling into sleep again.
Now I use those annoying beeps to wake me up, hehehe...

<< I choose the annoying beeping/siren and crank it up as loud as I can. >>

I used to do that too... but when it woke everyone else in my family, they started getting pissed so I had to turn it down...

At one point I also wore headphones to sleep so I can turn the volume way up without waking anyone else... but I found out it's quite bad for my hearing so I stopped...

I recently trained myself to get up in the morning w/o an alarm clock. I fricking hate those things. I can get up at 6:45 without any alarm at all now. I much prefer it.

I crank up my volume, and set it to some crackly static frequency that is in between 2 different stations. I learn to wake up a few minutes before my alarm now. 🙂 If I don't, I hit my head on the ceiling 4 feet above my sleeping head.

I have it set to a stupid soft rock station. But they are consistant, so it works. When it goes off they are in the middle of a song, nothing to loud or annoying, wakes you up slow. As soon as the song is over the news/weather starts. So I just lay in bed untill the news is over, then I get up. Same way every morning 🙂

I haven't used any kind of alarm for 20 years. My rising times vary constantly between 4:00am and 8:00am and I just automaticallly wake up at the proper time. I think the reason I am able to do this is because I am on the borderline between a very light sleeper and an insomniac.

<< Wow, I can't beleive I'm the only one out of 21 people who wakes up w/o an alarm. >>

Heh...I'd do that too if I didn't have to wake up at a crazy hour (5:30am)

i wake up to the radio.. but ihave my alarm set 9 minutes early so i can hit the snooze bar and wake up slowly

Bob & Tom, 5:45 AM...

Alarm is a lousy, heart-pounding way to end a peaceful night's sleep.
