Do you say "oh" or "zero"?

they are different.

And yet people frequently use "oh" in place of saying "zero" because it's shorter, hence the poll.

I frequently use either.

i.e. for my area code, I say "nine-oh-eight" but for my zip code I say "zero-eight-eight-four-four." For the last four digits of my phone number I say "zero-zero-six-five" because "oh-oh" sounds funny. When I'm talking on the phone I'm more prone to using zero for clarity.

Did anyone watch that rerun of "Beverly Hills, 9zero21zero"?

But seriously,

I say "OH" for addresses, phone numbers, etc...

I say "Zero" for counting and math.

i know... thats what I say though...simply because at my job, they need to be said differently 🙂

I use "oh" when I am saying a long number, like a telephone number or CC number.

I rarely use "zero" unless the information I need to specify is alphanumeric.

Almost always zero. Our industry has alot of identification numbers which are alphanumeric.
The difference between saying "oh" and "zero" could be the difference between dropping a frac T1 or dropping an OC48.

Honestly, yes. And they pay for that better level of service.
