Do you save you bills?

Do you guys save all your reciepts for your bills? Ex. Sprint Cell phone bill?

Do you have to save them for tax purposes? If I ever get audited, can't I just call Sprint and get a printout?

Yeah - my wife files them all away somewhere. Probably in that thing that looks like a filing cabinet which I rarely open.

I keep one years worth of billing info in the bottom draw of my desk. After the year is over it become confetti. Of course I have access to PDF copies for most of my bills. I'm not sure why I still keep the hard copy.

OK it looks like everyone has a different approach. What is the LAW? How far back can they audit you?
