Do you save all of your retail hardware boxes you get from newegg.com ?

In case I need to either RMA or I want to sell it so I can include "original packaging" to make it look good.

I hope you don't use just that box to ship the item UPS, USPS, or Fedex by putting the package label on that box itself.
 
I keep all my boxes just in case of an RMA request or of if I want to sell the specific piece of hardware.
 
At least for the warranty period...yes. I still have the original Gateway boxes I got a computer in almost 10 years ago...still has the monitor in them and parts of the original PC...(I scavenged some of the parts (floppy and DVD 6X drive) when I built the one I have now. Gonna get rid of a lot of it this summer.

No kidding...but, like I said, one box still contains the monitor, the other has the case and lots of the parts...besides, it's stuffed into an unused closet, so it's not a major deal. We're going to have a few yard sales this year (yeah, I know, most of this computer stuff will get tossed) to lighten the load for an upcoming move.

I see no point in keeping the boxes because you may never sell the item or ever have to RMA it. You pay a lot of money for all of that wasted space even if you don't know it or think you do. Imagine how much more room you would have without it. How much easier it would be to find things as well. You should worry about it only when the time comes for a RMA or wanting to sell it. Having the original box really doesn't help the resale value much because by the time you sell the item its already going for so cheap its not even worth selling anymore. So most people either keep it or throw it away.

It doesn't take up that much space. Obviously most of us toss large computer boxes or monitor boxes, but to keep you video cards and misc electronics doesn't take much space. If you're really that cramped then spell out $8 for a quarter sheet of melamine at Home Depot and add a shelf somewhere in your closet and be done with it. If you have no room for that then shens or show me a picture and I'll point out a dozen other things you'd be better served tossing.
 
I originally kept the boxes in case I had to RMA/warranty the PC. Keeping the boxes in the closet costs me nothing, and having a spare monitor has it's value, even though I really don't need one. as for the rest of my junk...out of sight, out of mind...😉
 
I keep motherboard boxes, they come with lots of useful things that I might use later down the line. Like IDE/SATA cables, little USB thingys etc etc.
