Do you rinse your soda/beer cans before drinking from them?

If it's possible to rinse them I will go out of my way to do so. There is no telling what the tops of the cans have been exposed to. For instance in the company I work for they leave them in the warehouse for awhile before shipping them off to their stores and I can only imagine what might scurry across them sometimes. Who knows what goes on in the actual bottling facilities and places they are shipped from across the region.

Never have and probably never will... I'm pretty sure my body can handle anything that's gonna be gone with a rinse...

The bacteria on top of the can are probably MORE healthy for you than the product in the can, because they keep your immune system active

Depends...it popping it open and the first few drinks will be gritty, then yes I'll rinse it off otherwise I don't bother.

LOL. Skoorb have you seen what's on those cans sometimes!! No way I can get myself to drink from it without cleaning it. Yuck!!

I do on a case by case basis, but I'd say it's somewhere around every one can in 200 or so.

I do at work. Sometmes the cans smell like pesticide and there is physical crud on them.

At the most I'll blow some air into the groove if there is a lot of grit. But that doesnt happen too often.

rinse only if there is gooey crap on the top (like from a nearby can leaking on it), but even if they look clean I will give them a quick wipe with my shirt.

If I'm buying stuff from a vending machine that I'll be eating with my hands (like pretzels), I'll usually wash my hands off after handling the change. Coins can be some nasty things.

well when my bf and I were at WalMart once we got a soda out of the machine and it was all sticky and disgusting so instead of washing it off we just didn't drink it. Kinda gross.. whenever I drink soda that was in a box or something I don't wash the top off.

And I only tap the can when it's been shaken up.

I don't rinse it, but I wipe around the top once with my finger before opening it. That said, I don't drink pop very often (once every 2-3 months).

Yep, I usually tap it if it's been shaken at all (especially when buying from a pop machine). Just grabbing one out of the fridge, not usually.
