Do you rewear clothes between washings? If so where do you put them?

Where do you put rewearable clothes between washings?

  • Rewearable? Nothing is rewearable because I am a dirty dirty person

  • Put them back in the same spot to wear again because I dont care how dirty I am

  • Throw them on the slightly clean pile between the clean pile and the dirty piles

  • Put them back in the closet but in an isolated quarantine area

  • I'm not sure what my maid does with them

So if you wear clothes for a short time but they are re-wearable what do you do with them?

Jeans, sweat pants - on the floor next to the bed, and slip them back on the next morning. Usually a weekend sort of thing.

Coats, jackets, etc. - I put them back on the coat rack when I'm done wearing them. Hats, gloves - into a basket by the door.

Pants or shorts to be worn again the next day get folded and set on a chest at the foot of the bed. If I don't anticipate wearing them immediately and they don't need laundering, they go back in the dresser drawer.

Buttoned shirts worn only for a short period are hung up again in the bedroom closet.

Sweaters and sweatshirts are almost always worn multiple times between launderings and are folded and put back in the drawer or else hung up again in the closet.

Outerwear gets hung up again in either the bedroom closet or the coat closet in the foyer.

I will re-wear a polo shirt that I wore over a t-shirt but thats it.

I typically leave the shirt on a bed in the guest bedroom.

Really depends on how dirty the shirt is. A pair of jeans, or shorts/comfy pants that I just wear around the house can be worn multiple days. If I just wore a shirt for a couple hours the day before and didn't get anything on it or sweat then it is fine. All depends on the situation.

I voted for "Put them back in the same spot to wear again because I dont care how dirty I am"

But i wear something called underwear and undershirts, which i change daily. The outer clothes i only wash when they stink or are visually dirty.

I do care about my appearance but if I need to quarantine clothes that means they should be washed. However there i nothing wrong with rewearing clothes unless i sweat in them. I live in MN so it is cold enough most of the time that i am not sweating in them daily.

T-shirts and underwear get washed after every wearing. Everything else? If it's not dirty, why put it through the wear and tear of cleaning it. If it's not dirty, why not hang or fold it up and put it back into rotation? Most of us have eyes to see stains/dirt and a nose that can smell.

Dress pants and dress shirts (not the heavy starch ones, but the light starch ones) get hung back up. Will wear the shirts 2 or 3 times until I notice wrinkles. Dress pants last about 4 wearings before they go to the dry cleaner.
Jeans will go about 5 wearings before they get washed. They are put back in the jeans drawer in the closet.
Everything else is a wear once item (with the exception of sweatshirts/fleece).

dry-clean only dress shirts that I wore an undershirt under -- hung up on a hook in back of my bedroom door

suits -- hung up back in the closet, but facing the opposite direction from my unworn suits so I know to grab it when I go to the cleaners

hoodies -- same as suits, back in the closet but facing the opposite direction so I know to grab them on laundry day

jeans -- folded and put on the dresser

all other clothes I'll only wear once and then go in the laundry basket as I get undressed before bed.

This. If it dont stink it gets reworn. Undies and socks daily. Or at least every other day.

Same here. Washing all of your clothes every single time you wear them is a stupid waste of utilities and soap on top of the fact that it wears out the clothes faster. I wear my jeans for at least a month without washing them unless they get dirty or start to smell for some reason. Maybe all of you need to learn how to not get shit or piss on your pants if they smell after a single use.

Since I don't have an obesssive disorder or a clean clothes fetish I wear clothes until they get dirty.

Wear underwear, it keeps the piss and shit from showing. Double wipe and a jigggle keeps the pants clean too.

Pretty much this. I put on new socks and underwear daily but the rest I will put on and on until my gf make a funny face or run to get the puke bowl when I come close, which didn't happened yet.

Hang them up in the open to air out... which has been my exercise bike lately.

Slacks and jeans I'll usually wear a few times before washing/laundering them. Dress shirts go in the laundry after one wear though. Only exception is if I wear one out to dinner and have a t-shirt underneath and I didn't spill anything on it. Then it gets hung back in the closet. Slacks will get hung back up in the closet.

Shorts I might wear 3-4 times between washing.

Underwear, t-shirts and socks only get worn once and they go in the laundry.

No poll option for: "I don't rewear dirty clothes, however I do wear my wife's underwear when I run out of my own."

Shirts - I have a hook on the back of the bedroom door

Pants - lay them on the spare bed

I can't return them to the closet or drawer because then it's entirely possible I won't touch them until the season returns. In which case they would turn musty from the skin oils they absorbed.
