Do you respect them? Why or why not?

I do because they always support me and give me the advice I need. Not to mention bringing me up so kindly, without what they did, I may have been nowhere in life. This isn't a flaming party, but this is a true question because of the threads regarding hate towards parents I've seen from time to time here.

Also, do you plan to show your respect somehow? I'm doing my best in school and after college want to repay every penny it cost them even though they are paying for it.

Most of the time, but it doesn't really matter since I don't live with them. We're allowed to disagree without it being a big deal now.

I don't even know your parents.

Your parents. Not my parents.
They're dead, thanks for the painful memory.

I am so sorry. :(

I didn't know, from now on I'll be careful when talking about things like this. My bad, honestly. :brokenheart:

I don't necessarily respect their opinions on different issues, but I respect the fact they're my parents. I appreciate all they've sacrificed for me, and I love them dearly.

I respect my mother... she worked her a$$ off to raise me. My father is an a$$hat and walked out on both of us when my mother was giving birth to me, so I have no respect what so ever for him (havent spoke to him in 3 years)

My mom passed away 3+ years ago but I still respect her. She fought terminal cancer for over 6 years after having been given a 6 months to live prognosis. That's tuff eh? My dad kinda fell apart afterwards (we all did actually) but has since gotten himself together and remarried. He's going strong now.

What's NOT to respect?

Yes I do. I don't always like them, and they don't always like me, but they've always supported me in my life's endeavours, they've raised me with a good conscience and moral values, they've given me a lot of the things they weren't fortunate enough to have when they were my age.

They did all this, and they didn't even want me! (I was one of those "pleasant surprises";)).

Most of the time.

The only time i don't respect her is when she disrespects myself, family, or friends. I treat her with respect right up until she starts to yell at my friends (for stupid reasons such as calling MY CELL PHONE at night time), or belittle my brother or sisters.
