Simple as that, thats my rule and I'm not even Asian. My entire family is Italian and we all do the same in each other's houses. This thread reminds me of a funny situation where I had to call Sears one time to get my washing machine serviced. So the technician shows up on Saturday morning at my door. When I asked him to remove his shoes, he looked at me like I had 2 heads. He keeps on saying that he doesn't work without his shoes and so on and so on. So we go back and forth a few times, finally he says he's leaving if he has to take his shoes off. So thinking quick, I run to my kitchen and grab some plastic shopping bags. I tell the douchebag to tie the bags around his ankles so his boots are covered and get his ass to work. The look on his face was just pure hilarity and seeing him wear plastic booties was even funnier.

Seriously, if I spend almost $4000 to get NEW wall to wall carpeting in my place, you can bet even I don't wear my shoes in the house. What the hell makes this guy think he can come in here with work boots on and stain my new rugs?
