I saw it on tv. Half an hour later, I had to go to CAD lab. I spent about 3 hours drawing a space shuttle, with as much detail as I could muster at the time.

It was a snow day for me too, so I slept in. When I got up my parents had the news of the explosion on the TV

Senior at Clemson. I remember all of the talking heads "explaining" what happened before they had any clue.

Junior in HS when the 1st one took off.

Yes, I was a freshman in high school. For whatever reason, we were having our English class in the home economics room that day and another teacher came in, with tears in her eyes, and told us what happened. We were having issues with Libya and their support of terrorism at the time, so many initially wondered if perhaps Libya was behind it.

I was on the way to lunch with friends from work. We were listening to the radio and were like, 'wth???' We saw the replay on the tv when we got to the restaurant. When I got back to the office, I called my gf (now wife); the receptionist sounded like she wanted to cry.

I was home after school. I remember I wanted to watch GI Joe cartoon, which wasn't usually my favorite cartoon, but I was bored of transformers and really wanted to see it, but they cancelled the cartoon to show the launch. I wasn't interested so I went o play with my space legos. I heard about it later that evening I think, or maybe not until the next day at school.

No, but I remember when the Columbia blew up on Feb. 1, 2003: I think I was right at this table in my kitchen at my computer and I saw a thread pop up about it immediately right here, I believe.

Was on bivouac in basic training. Heard about it from the kid who drove the hot coffee out for breakfast.

Can't say I do. I remember the News of it and what not, but nothing outside of that.

Challenger it was a snow day and I was with my mom at work. One of her coworkers came in and said it blew up. I remember exclaiming that couldn't happen.

Columbia: I got up early to check the NASA TV feed to see if they had landed. If they didn't my wife was going to have to go back in that night since she worked in Mission Control as a shuttle flight controller for the oribital portion of Columbia's last flight. Turned on the feed right as the flight director told them to lock the doors.

We have a remembrance this week every year since all three lost crews happened this week.

Just got off the bus in junior high. They wheeled TV's into all the classrooms so we could watch what was happening and talk about it.

Challenger - At home, watched a slightly delayed feed and wondered for a few seconds what I just saw.
Columbia - At work, probably on CNN.

I was a Sergeant stationed in Germany. When I got off duty at 5 PM, Saturday Night Live was always on AFN. I thought it was a skit. Sad day.
