Do you remember when movies followed this release timeline ...

Movie Theaters -> 2 Months -> Blockbuster -> 2 Months -> Released to General Public

Blockbuster is crap now, and I haven't rented a movie in years. I remember when we used to rent probably 4 movies a week at Blockbuster ... and we have over 2000 rentals on our card. From that, to nothing once they got cash hungry.

I've never been a big movie person.

Rarely do I rent a movie but it is even more rare to go to the theatre.

cjmtfd102401 hates it!

I didn't pay attention to movies at BlockBuster back when I was a kid, it was all about seeing if there were any new cool games for SNES or Genisis. After a few years of that it was the PSX. I stopped renting by the time PS2 came out though.

I even remember this timeline:
Movie theaters -> 2-6 months ->oblivion until they reappeared a couple years later all chopped up on Saturday Night At The Movies on TV.

Yes I remember. They tried a simultaneous release (theatre, DVD, PayTV) with Bubble but it bombed. I don't know if it was because it was a crappy movie or because the simultaneous release model didnt work.
