Do you remember these games?

Police Quest, King's Quest, Space Quest?

I just saw that they have compilations out now with all those games in them.

Police Quest compilation
Space Quest compilation
King's Quest compilation

Those old adventure type games from Sierra were the best. I don't think I ever played King's Quest but I did play some of the other Quest games. Those were such good, fun, and QUALITY games, not like the crap thats being churned out today.

LOL, yea I remember. I've been playing quite a few retro games recently - I like the feel that the thing I'm playing has been written by a couple of hackers in a basement somewhere, not by a huge corporate team, and I like the fact that they didn't take themselves too seroiously.

I think Quest For Glory was Sierra as well, that game rocked. I did prefer the later Lucasarts adventures over the listed Sierra games, however.

I never played Police or Space Quest. I however played King's Quest all the way through from IV to VII.

Good times.

In fact, now I recall that it was KQIV which got me into PC gaming all along, as I saw it at a cousin's house and I thought: "I MUST have this game!".

I dug up an old box of floppy disks in the basement, and found the original Space Quest and Hero's Quest (the original name of Quest for Glory) in there. Fun times those were

do you still have the original Hero's Quest? This was my favorite game of all time!!! Can you post a picture? And would you be interested in selling it?

Sierra's original management stepped down after the company was sold, and it eventually fell into the hands of Vivendi. Coincidentally, I don't recall a single worthwhile game since. The last game I played distributed by them was Half-Life.

I've played several of the King's Quest, and Space Quest games. I don't think I could stand to look at them now. I'd prefer to remember them as having good graphics for their time.

X-com was one of the greatest games ever made, but when I went back and tried to play it recently, it was unbearable. The graphics seem so bad now by todays standards that it was painful to look at, and the sound just made me cringe.

yes, yes, and yes.

Another great series that Sierra used to make: Front Page Sports Football.

Those games were really just GOOD. My favorite was Quest for Glory AKA Hero's Quest. I remember playing that for hours.

Anyone remember the LucasArts adventure games? I forget what the pirate one was called but those were an absolute hoot.

Ahhh, Monkey Island!

Heard of them but never got around to playing them.

Same here.

I loved the first two games but somehow never got around to playing the two more recent ones. When I get some free time, I'm going to grab some of these old classics I missed off ebay and play through them.

I never tire of the old games I used to play. I recently went through Lemmings again (the Mac version, which has better graphics and music) and found myself spending a minute just staring at the graphics in each level, which look stunning for a 1992 game.
