Do you really need those red washers to install a motherboard?

I didn`t get those red (non-metal) washers that go between the screw and the motherboard, with this new Enlight case I got.

Do I REALLY need them? What do they do?

No,evidently they are not important because they are not supplied with the mobo, they sometimes come with a new case though.I never use them and have had 0 problems.the screw and standoffs do not touch anything that can short anyway and for thier use to be effective, you would have to use one on each side of the mobo and even then the screws side may contact the board,so what is the point.Just don't over tighten the screws and you will be fine:D

They are not needed, or the manual would tell about them. You will not short anything out.

I've always been told they ARE necessary, but I guess not..

I have been taught to use the washers; if you don't have any, to use paper inbetween the metal surfaces instead to prevent a short. Looks like it's some sort of false notion, however, according to these posts.

I've build so many systems and I've never used these washers... No problems at all!

Same here - 36 computers built without a single washer (oh, and they all still work...)!
