Think about it - since the first 'Heavier than Air' flight by the Wright btothers in 1904
until now in 2005, it's been in continous production since 1954.

C-130 is an incredible bird. I've flown in and jumped out of 'em. Also sat in a jump seat holding on for dear life during short-strip take offs and landings. Can only imagine the pilots view. Yowza!

Until you've seen a C-5B Galaxy take off, climb straight up at 90 degrees, than LOOP, flying upside down for a period of time, you haven't seen anything. Good God, the power in those engines to make that masive beast do that is just incredible. Air shows are a wonderful thing, especially at Dover AFB...

The B-52A first flew in 1954, and the B model entered service in 1955. A total of 744 B-52s were built with the last, a B-52H, delivered in October 1962. Only the H model is still in the Air Force inventory and is assigned to Air Combat Command and the Air Force Reserves

Are you sure that a C5 can climb at 90 degrees?

I love the Herc, what a workhorse. I wonder how many countries around the world have used them also.

I have to admit, it's hard to imagine a C-5 doing the loop and such... but I absolutely love the high whine of those engines. That and standing near a B-1 taking off with full afterburner, crap, I thought my heart would explode.
