I at least glance at the headlines of at least one print newspaper, reading more maybe twice a week. I also click over to the New York Times online at least once a day.

For 20+ years I was a huge news junkie. I would wake up turn on the news... first thing. CNN, Fox, NPR... didn't matter. Drove my GF nuts. And when I got home, I would spend an hour surfing from one news network to the next. And from there I would probably watch 2-3 opinion programs generally flipping from one to the next.

Then I moved to Hawaii.

After two months, I didn't care anymore. Probably because I didn't have cable... But whatever... My news addiction faded and I found I was much happier. See... no matter what happens, I get to play golf every Satruday. And when I'm done, I get to pound beers. I doubt there is a policy on either side that addresses that issue.

So my policy is that as long as the economy is healthy enough for me to keep collecting fat checks, and I get to play golf every weekend... My news is good. ;)

I always check CNN and Sports Illustrated dailey. Sometimes the Times if there's any left in the mornings.

That's the way I see it.. There is almost nothing on the news that will change your day to day life, other than how you feel and how much anxiety you have.
