I used to visit and post in it regularly, but it has gone down to such a level where almost no actual discussion takes place. As it is now, it's pretty much just two groups that will argue with the each other over the color of the sky.

When it was first created, there was supposed to be zero tolerance for personal attacks, and that has pretty much gone out the window...that's really all P&N is now..personal attacks. It's funny to because if you read the description of the forum on the main forums page, it says, in bold even, that personal attacks will not be tolerated.

I do still visit from time to time to keep an eye on my favorite grumpy, know it all poster.

Actually I find it to be the exact opposite. I'd say the vast majority of posts are Bush/America-bashing polemics with little other purpose than to piss off people who disagree and create a circle jerk for those who agree. The irritating thing is that the general thought process behind 90% of the posters is that being extremely arrogant, patronizing, and insulting somehow makes a person right. It's more a contest to see who can post the most inflammtory rhetoric in the highest volume. I read it just to shake my head at a lot of the douches in there, but I don't really post since few people there seem like anything other than ideological trolls.

IMO, it seems to be that the side you are closer to, be it left or right, you seem to notice the other sides rhetoric posts more. If you have been following P & N since it started, it was WAAAY more conservative when the war started, and everyone that was critical of the admin at all was labeled a "tree hugger", "anti american", "un patriotic", etc. It seems to have shifted a bit to the left now, and it's probably in no small part due to how Iraq is unfolding.

The point being that BOTH SIDES engage in the type of post you comment on, and it's only normal that you will notice and/or be more annoyed by the side you don't agree with.
